AI API services
One account and one OpenAI-compatible key for every kind of AI model. Choose a capability to see the models, their prices and working code, then try it live.
AI API services at a glance
- 692 AI models from 86 providers across 9 capabilities, all behind one OpenAI-compatible endpoint: https://api14.com/api/v1.
- Every model is billed in USD from one balance, and new accounts start with free credit.
- Model ids use the provider/model format (for example openai/gpt-5-mini), so switching models means changing one string in your request.
- The catalog updates every hour; new models appear automatically.
LLM API
Use one chat completions endpoint for every large language model. Streaming, tool calling, JSON schema outputs, vision and reasoning work the same way across providers, so you can pick the best price or quality per task without rewriting code.
Image generation API
Turn prompts and reference images into product shots, illustrations and marketing visuals. Choose aspect ratio, resolution and number of images per request, and pay only for the images you generate.
Video generation API
Submit a prompt (and optionally a first frame), poll the job and download the result. Choose duration, resolution, aspect ratio and audio per request. You are charged once, when the video is completed.
Text to speech API
Generate natural voices for apps, videos and accessibility. Pick a model and voice, set speed and output format (mp3, wav, opus, flac) and stream the audio back.
Speech to text API
Upload an audio or video file and get accurate text back, optionally with timestamps. Use it for meeting notes, subtitles, call analytics and voice input.
Music generation API
Describe the music or ask for a spoken reply, and receive audio in the chat completion response. Useful for jingles, background tracks and voice-first apps.
Embeddings API
Convert text into vectors for semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), recommendations and clustering. Batch many inputs in one request.
Rerank API
Send a query and a list of documents; get them back ordered by relevance with scores. Adding a rerank step after vector search is one of the cheapest ways to improve RAG answers.
Decision model API
Decision models read a state and a typed question and return a choice or a score instead of free text. They are smaller and cheaper than general LLMs and give predictable, machine-readable answers for routing, moderation and evaluation.

How to call any AI API with one key
- 1
Create a free account
Sign up and get free credit. No card needed to start.
- 2
Create an API key
Keys can be limited by model, requests per minute and daily spend.
- 3
Point the OpenAI SDK at api14
Set baseURL to https://api14.com/api/v1 and pick any model id. Streaming, tools and vision work as usual.
import OpenAI from "openai";
const client = new OpenAI({
baseURL: "https://api14.com/api/v1",
apiKey: process.env.API14_API_KEY,
});
const result = await client.chat.completions.create({
"model": "openai/gpt-5-mini",
"messages": [
{
"role": "user",
"content": "Explain vector databases in two sentences."
}
]
});
console.log(result.choices[0].message.content);
How to choose the right AI API
Start from the output you need
Text answers and agents → LLM API. Pictures → image generation. Clips → video generation. Voice output → text to speech; transcripts → speech to text. Search and RAG → embeddings plus rerank.
Compare price per unit, not per model name
Prices are listed per 1M tokens, per image, per second of video, per 1M characters or per minute of audio, so models of the same capability are directly comparable.
Test before you integrate
Every capability page has a live playground and copy-paste code in 12 languages. Try a model on real input, then send the same request from your code.
AI API services without the integration work
Teams usually lose weeks wiring up separate AI providers. These are the problems our AI API services remove:
Too many provider accounts and SDKs
OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral and dozens more behind one endpoint. Keep the official openai SDK and switch models by changing one string.
Unclear pricing
Every model shows its USD price per token, image, second or character, and every request is itemised. The price you see is the price you pay.
Separate bills and prepaid credits everywhere
One USD balance or one subscription covers every model. Top up with Stripe, set auto top-up and a low-balance alert.
Runaway costs from a leaked key
Give every API key its own rate limit, daily spend cap and model allow-list. Revoke a key instantly.
A model goes down or changes
Use provider routing and model fallbacks in the same request, or switch to a comparable model listed on each model page.
No visibility into what the AI costs
See cost, tokens and latency for every request, broken down by model, key and capability, and export it as CSV.
AI API services: FAQ
What is an AI API service?
An AI API service lets your application call AI models (language, image, video, speech and search models) over HTTP instead of hosting them yourself. You send a request, the model runs, and you pay only for what you use.
Is api14 compatible with the OpenAI SDK?
Yes. Use the official openai package in Node.js, Python or any other language and change only baseURL and apiKey. Chat completions, responses, embeddings, images, audio and streaming keep the same request shapes.
Which AI models can I use?
692 models from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral and DeepSeek, grouped by capability. The list updates hourly.
How is usage billed?
In US dollars from a prepaid balance, at the price shown on each model page. Pay as you go, or subscribe to a plan that adds more usage than it costs.
Can I limit what an API key can do?
Yes. Each key can have its own requests-per-minute limit, a daily USD limit and an allow-list of models.
